Alan Broadbent Duo – Nov 26, London

Georgia reunites with double Grammy award-winning pianist and composer/arranger, Alan Broadbent, for a very special duo show at London’s Pizza Express Jazz Club on Wednesday 26 November.  This performance will be a world premiere of their new songwriting partnership.

Broadbent is undoubtedly one of the world’s finest jazz pianists and orchestral arrangers with credits including titans Woody Herman, Charlie Haden (Quartet West), Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, Nelson Riddle, David Rose, Johnny Mandel, Paul McCartney and his iconic association with vocalist Irene Kral.

Georgia and Alan first played together last year at the Lighthouse, Poole and The Pheasantry as part of the  London Jazz Festival (selected as Culture Whisper Best of Jazz Gigs 2013).

This Summer they began a songwriting partnership: Georgia’s beautifully crafted lyrics a perfect match for Alan’s incredibly evocative melodies.  Alan spoke to London Jazz News ahead of his forthcoming UK appearances: “vocalist Georgia Mancio is now writing lovely lyrics to my pieces and I can’t wait to play some of them with her when I’m in the UK”.
