Legendary pianist Alan Broadbent brings his pen to supply the music for Georgia Mancio’s dreamy voice and lyrics on this collection of winsome originals. Completed by Oli Hayhurst/b and Dave Ohm/dr, Mancio and Alan Broadbent deliver moods like the cozy girl next door atmosphere of “The Journey Home” and the whimsical “Small Wonder.” Mancio has a tinge of wanderlust in her voice on “Close To The Moon” and gets slinky with Broadbent and Hayhurst” on the thoughtful “Forever.” Mancio shows her vocal alacrity as she gets kinetic on the boppy “One For Bud” as Ohm brushes along like Astaire.
There are also a pair of duets which beg for more; a stately “Hide Me From The Moonlight” and a starry eyed “Lullaby For MM.” It’s refreshing to hear new material that sounds both modern and timeless.
