Biography

Multi award-winning /nominated vocalist, lyricist and producer, Georgia Mancio, is a supreme storyteller and formidable force on today’s scene, creating work of beauty and bite, both personal and political.

A joyously authentic artist, whether interpreting her own luminous originals or standards, Georgia’s invoking performances connect deeply with her audiences and linger long in the mind.

Her copious industry acknowledgements include two Parliamentary Jazz Awards: Best Vocalist (2021), and Best Album (2020) for ‘Finding Homewith Kate WilliamsFour Plus Three and special guest, guitarist John Williams.

She has also received multiple nominations at the Jazz FM, British Jazz and Urban Music Awards.

Songbook, her revered collaboration with double Grammy-winning pianist and composer, Alan Broadbent, has been described as “one of the most formidable songwriting partnerships of the 21st century” (Jazz Views), and has yielded over 40 co-written works.

They have also produced three albums: ‘Songbook(2017), ‘Quiet Is The Star(2020) and the forthcomingA Story Left Untold’ (2025); and published two editions of their book ‘The Songs of Alan Broadbent and Georgia Mancio’. 

Their many performances across Europe and the US  include: Ronnie Scott’s, EFG London Jazz Festival, Krakow International Jazz Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center (Dizzy’s), Mezzrow and Rochester International Jazz Festival.

From 2010-2014 Georgia produced her now iconic ReVoice! Festival in association with the Pizza Express Jazz Club.  She  presented over 160 artists across 5 multi-venue editions including: Rebecca Parris, Tuck & PattiRaul MidonGregory Porter (his first UK booking), Beady BelleCarleen AndersonCarmen SouzaKarin Krog and Diana Torto/Kenny Wheeler/John Taylor and performed 44 sets herself.

From 2017, she went on to produce  3 editions of a new series, Hang, showcasing her ever-evolving creativity as a curator and collaborative kudos and versatility with artists including Ian ShawLiane CarrollNigel PriceNikki IlesAlina Bzhezhinska, Gareth Lockrane, Trish Clowes and Tom Cawley

An experienced educator, Georgia has been teaching vocal technique and performance skills privately, and at City University since 2018.  She also runs her own label, Roomspin Records, and Eltham and Crystal Palace Jazz Clubs with drummer, Dave Ohm.
