"It’s a bona fide masterpiece"

Jazz Da Gama (Canada)

"Nine touching songs, two performers and one intense meeting of minds"

The Observer

"This is an album that should be played in your home at least once a day. It has been my rule for several weeks now. A Grammy winner if ever there was one."

Jazz Wax

"this intimate, intelligent and meticulously recorded album is highly recommended ... the standard of the singing and playing is excellent throughout ... sure to make the “Best of Year” lists when the time eventually comes."

The Jazz Mann

"a delight from start to finish ... Georgia Mancio continues to develop and grow as a lyricist; there's an elegant simplicity to the lyrics, which is so hard to achieve."

Kind of Jazz

"simply, a glorious album of beautifully performed new songs by a songwriting team that, in my opinion, takes its place among the best!"

London Jazz News

"Look into this album’s glinting treasures. Reflected there, especially in these days, is beauty to hold dear."

AP Reviews

"words and music fuse so powerfully that each song's emotional arc grips you to the very end ... a collaborative lodestone possessing its own irresistible force"

"The two artists work in such perfect symmetry, our ears and minds and hearts are theirs ... they have struck such beauty and perfection"

Women in Jazz Media

"Each song merits attention, invariably thoughtful, often poignant, certainly elegiac ... this exquisite yet potent series of reflections on the human condition is too good to miss."

The Jazz Rag

"Georgia Mancio’s vocals are stunning throughout, the phrasing elegant and purposeful. The musicianship of pianist Alan Broadbent is sublime and adds to the light and shade that permeates this album"

Simply Jazz Talk

"There is something magical that occurs when these two musical minds come together, creating music of beauty and purity that takes the breath away ... impossible to forget, and ... destined to be regarded as the classic songs of our time"

Jazz Views

"These poignant songs of love, loss and of regeneration are performed with great warmth and delicacy by Georgia and Alan ... an emotionally charged duet by two musicians in harmony."

Jazz Journal

"The songs, with their poetic and melancholic lyrics, have a distant aroma of Sondheim in their rhythm ... Rodgers & Hart, and Joni Mitchell in their poetry ... a delight to savor slowly ... the fortunate conjunction of these two talents."

Quiet Is The Star

Quiet Is The Star is the new album by vocalist/lyricist Georgia Mancio and Grammy-winning pianist/composer Alan Broadbent and the much anticipated companion to  their 2017 Songbook.

The album spotlights the purity and parity of the duo setting in 9 co-written songs exploring the ties we weave in life: sisterly, maternal, romantic, universal. One voice, one piano, one dialogue. Georgia’s deeply nuanced singing (“sublime, clarity and poise personified, intimate yet dynamic”, Jazzwise) is embraced by Alan’s rhapsodic solo piano, indicating the breadth of his musicianship, from accompanist to Big Band/orchestral leader.

Recorded in late 2019, it re-unites with Songbook producer Andrew Cleyndert and artist Simon Manfield, whose bespoke watercolours perfectly accompany the subtle variations of mood.

The album is released alongside  The Songs Of Alan Broadbent & Georgia Mancio  – a book of 33 co-written works from both albums (Songbook and Quiet Is The Star) and many more besides.
